Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using VikingPal ("the App") or visiting vikingpal.oakdev.app ("the Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App or Site.

These terms constitute a legal agreement between you and OakDev & AI AB, a company registered in Sweden.

VikingPal is a daily Christian companion application providing:

• Bible reading with progress tracking
• Prayer journaling and tracking
• Guided reflection across 15 spiritual categories
• Worship space (Selah) with hymns and Psalms
• AI-powered personal guidance (Ask VikingPal, Premium)
• Connected Features including Right Now Faith Help, Sermon Companion, and more
• Study and formation tools

To access certain features, you must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate and complete registration information
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access at hello@oakdev.app

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this age requirement.

Subscription tiers

• Grace (Free) — Core features included at no cost. No payment required.
• Premium — Subscriber tier unlocking Ask VikingPal, Connected Features, and deeper personalisation. Billed monthly or yearly.

Payment processing

All Premium payments are processed exclusively through Apple App Store (for iOS) and Google Play (for Android). We do not store your payment card data. Your purchase is subject to the applicable platform's payment terms.

Refunds

Refund requests must be submitted to Apple or Google directly via their standard refund processes. OakDev & AI AB is unable to process refunds directly for in-app purchases.

Cancellation

You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time through your device's subscription management settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused periods.

VikingPal is designed for personal spiritual use. You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
• Use automated tools to access or scrape app content
• Redistribute, resell, or sublicense any content from VikingPal
• Submit false, misleading, or harmful content through support channels
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data

User-generated content

Content you create within VikingPal (prayer journal entries, notes) is private to your account. You retain ownership of your own personal content. By storing it in our service, you grant us a limited licence to process and store it for the purpose of providing the service to you.

All original content in VikingPal — including the app code, design, UI, AI-generated reflections, written guidance, and branding — is owned by OakDev & AI AB and is protected by copyright and intellectual property law.

Scripture quotations are from publicly available translations where specified within the app. We do not claim ownership of Scripture text itself.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use VikingPal for personal, non-commercial spiritual use. No other rights are granted.

The spiritual content, AI-generated guidance, and reflections in VikingPal are for personal encouragement and are not a substitute for professional theological, psychological, or pastoral counsel. Always consult qualified professionals for serious spiritual, mental health, or personal matters.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OakDev & AI AB shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of VikingPal.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or SEK 500, whichever is greater.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service. You may delete your account at any time via the in-app settings or by emailing hello@oakdev.app.

Upon termination, your right to use the app ends immediately. Sections 06, 07, 08, and 11 survive termination.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of VikingPal after changes are effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

The current version of these terms is always available at vikingpal.oakdev.app/terms.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of VikingPal shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Swedish courts, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also have the right to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
