Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using VikingPal, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use VikingPal.

These Terms apply to the VikingPal mobile application, website, support channels, account services, in-app purchases, virtual items, AI-powered guidance, and related services (together, the "Service").

If you use VikingPal on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes that organization.

VikingPal is provided by:

References to "VikingPal," "we," "us," or "our" mean OakDev & AI AB unless the context clearly refers to the app itself.

VikingPal is a Norse-inspired guidance and reflection app rooted in Asa tro themes, mythology, rune symbolism, and personal reflection. Features may include:

• Hall of Gods and god-specific sanctums.
• Reflection doors, personal prompts, saved guidance, ritual journal, lore, saga figures, and chants.
• Ask VikingPal, Gods Council, Daily Rune Cast, daily quests, and related AI-powered or generated features.
• Rune balances, starter runes, purchased runes, ad-supported access, Hrafnlaus ad-free entitlements, and the Ragnarök theme.
• Support, account management, account deletion, purchase restoration, language settings, diagnostics, and app updates.

Feature names, availability, prices, entitlements, content, wording, supported languages, and platform behavior may change over time. Some features may be available only in certain countries, on certain platforms, or for users with specific entitlements.

You must be at least 13 years old to use VikingPal. If the law in your country requires a higher age for digital services or consent, that higher age applies unless your parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms and permitted your use.

You may not use VikingPal if you are prohibited from using the Service under applicable law, sanctions, export control rules, app store rules, or these Terms.

You may need an account to use certain features, sync progress, save content, manage runes, or restore purchases. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure.

• You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by our breach of these Terms or applicable law.
• You must not share, sell, transfer, or sublicense your account.
• You must notify us promptly at hello@oakdev.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
• You are responsible for maintaining access to the email, Apple account, Google account, or other sign-in method connected to your account.

You may delete your VikingPal account in the app or by following the instructions at vikingpal.oakdev.app/delete-account. Deleting your VikingPal account does not automatically restore or refund prior in-app purchases. Purchase restoration and refunds are handled through Apple App Store or Google Play according to their rules.

Some VikingPal responses are generated or assisted by AI systems. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, outdated, unsuitable, repetitive, biased, unsafe, or inconsistent. Similar or identical output may be generated for other users.

You agree not to rely on VikingPal for emergency, medical, mental health, self-harm, legal, financial, safety, or other high-stakes decisions. In an emergency or crisis, contact local emergency services or an appropriate professional immediately.

We may moderate, limit, refuse, log, review, or block prompts and outputs where needed for safety, abuse prevention, legal compliance, debugging, or service operation. We do not guarantee that any output will match your expectations, beliefs, tradition, worldview, or desired outcome.

"Your Content" means prompts, questions, journal entries, notes, support messages, screenshots, feedback, and other material you submit to VikingPal. You keep ownership of Your Content, subject to the rights you grant us below.

You grant OakDev & AI AB a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, display back to you, generate output from, back up, secure, debug, and otherwise use Your Content only as needed to provide, maintain, protect, and improve VikingPal, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.

You are responsible for Your Content. You must not submit content that is unlawful, infringing, abusive, exploitative, hateful, threatening, harassing, deceptive, malicious, or that violates another person's privacy or rights. Do not submit secrets, passwords, payment credentials, government IDs, health records, or information you are not allowed to share.

If you send feedback, suggestions, bug reports, feature ideas, or similar input, we may use it without restriction or compensation, but we will handle personal data according to the Privacy Policy.

Plans and entitlements

• Wanderer: A free, ad-supported tier that may include starter runes, core features, reflection doors, and other free functionality.
• Hrafnlaus: A one-time purchase that permanently removes advertising from the app.
• Ragnarök: A one-time purchase that may unlock ad-free access, a theme, rune bonuses, or other stated digital benefits.
• Rune packs or other in-app purchases: Paid virtual items or digital entitlements for use inside VikingPal.

VikingPal does not sell subscriptions. All paid offerings are one-time in-app purchases or consumable rune top-ups unless the purchase screen states otherwise. Actual prices, taxes, currencies, included features, and product descriptions are shown in the app store, purchase screen, or app at the time of purchase. If there is a conflict between marketing text and the purchase confirmation screen, the purchase confirmation screen controls, subject to mandatory law.

Billing through Apple and Google

In-app purchases are generally processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Your purchase is also subject to the applicable platform's terms, payment rules, refund rules, and purchase restoration tools. We do not store your full payment card details.

One-time purchases and restoration

Hrafnlaus and Ragnarök are one-time purchases. They do not renew automatically. You may restore eligible purchases through the app or the platform that sold them, subject to Apple or Google rules and your account history.

Uninstalling VikingPal or deleting your VikingPal account does not remove your purchase history from Apple or Google. Restoration after account deletion may require the same store account that originally made the purchase.

Refunds

Refunds for App Store or Google Play purchases must normally be requested from Apple or Google. We may assist with support information, but we generally cannot issue platform refunds directly. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory refund, cancellation, withdrawal, or consumer rights that apply in your country.

Promotions and price changes

Discounts, promotional runes, or bonus entitlements may be limited by region, account, platform, time, eligibility, or quantity. We may change prices for future purchases. Platform rules and applicable law determine refund and restoration rights.

Runes, starter runes, purchased runes, bonus runes, themes, ad-free status, badges, lore unlocks, and similar items are digital entitlements for use only inside VikingPal. They are not money, stored value, currency, gift cards, property, investment assets, or redeemable balances.

• Runes have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash.
• Runes and virtual items are personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and may not be sold, traded, or exchanged outside VikingPal.
• We may correct rune balances or entitlements affected by bugs, fraud, refund reversals, chargebacks, abuse, platform errors, or technical issues.
• Free, promotional, starter, or bonus runes may expire, be limited, or be removed if misused, unless prohibited by law.
• Purchased entitlements may be lost if you delete your account, lose access to the linked app store account, or violate these Terms, subject to mandatory consumer rights and platform restoration rules.

The free tier may show advertising. Ads may be delivered by third-party ad networks and may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your consent, device settings, app settings, region, age eligibility, and platform rules.

You must not manipulate ad impressions, clicks, rewards, identifiers, consent signals, or ad delivery. If you purchase or receive an ad-free entitlement, it applies only to VikingPal features and platforms covered by that entitlement and may not remove messages required for security, account, legal, purchase, or service operation.

You agree not to:

• Use VikingPal unlawfully, deceptively, harmfully, or in violation of another person's rights.
• Use the Service for emergency, high-stakes, professional, or regulated advice.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, copy, scrape, crawl, index, extract, or attempt to discover source code, prompts, models, datasets, systems, or non-public content, except where law expressly allows.
• Bypass paywalls, rune costs, ads, rate limits, security controls, consent controls, or purchase validation.
• Use bots, scripts, emulators, modified clients, automated requests, or load testing without our written permission.
• Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or compromise the Service or another user's account.
• Upload malware, exploit code, spam, phishing content, or content designed to extract private data.
• Use VikingPal output to train competing AI systems or create a substantially similar service without our permission.
• Misrepresent that VikingPal output is human professional advice or that it has been endorsed by OakDev & AI AB for a specific decision.
• Resell, sublicense, rent, share, or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly permitted by us.

VikingPal, including the app, website, software, design, interface, branding, names, logos, artwork, original text, generated feature structure, prompts, compiled content, and trade dress, is owned by OakDev & AI AB or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, database, trade secret, and other laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use VikingPal for personal, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control, as permitted by the applicable app store rules.

Norse myths, sagas, deity names, runes, and public-domain historical material may belong to cultural tradition or the public domain. We do not claim ownership over historical Norse tradition itself. We do own VikingPal's original selection, arrangement, wording, design, interpretations, app experiences, branding, and software.

You may not remove copyright notices, copy substantial parts of the Service, use VikingPal branding in a misleading way, or imply endorsement by OakDev & AI AB without written permission.

VikingPal may rely on third-party services such as Firebase, Google Cloud, Apple App Store, Google Play, advertising partners, AI model providers, hosting providers, analytics, crash reporting, support email, device operating systems, and app store infrastructure.

Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, data practices, availability limits, age rules, payment rules, and dispute processes. We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control, except where applicable law says otherwise.

We aim to keep VikingPal available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability. The Service may be interrupted by maintenance, updates, outages, security issues, provider downtime, app store review, legal changes, abuse prevention, or events outside our control.

We may add, change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue features, content, plans, supported platforms, languages, prices, ads, rune behavior, AI providers, or technical requirements. If a change materially affects a paid entitlement during an active paid period, we will handle it in a way that respects applicable law and platform rules.

You are responsible for installing updates where needed. Older versions may stop working if required for security, compatibility, compliance, or service operation.

We do not warrant that VikingPal will meet your expectations, produce any specific spiritual or personal outcome, preserve every item of content forever, be compatible with every device, be free from bugs, or that AI output will be correct or safe for your situation.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or rights that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer law.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OakDev & AI AB and its directors, employees, contractors, suppliers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, content, device access, or business opportunity; or damages arising from reliance on AI output or reflective content.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for claims arising from or relating to VikingPal or these Terms will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to OakDev & AI AB through VikingPal in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) SEK 500.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable, fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot be limited, or mandatory consumer rights.

You may stop using VikingPal at any time and may delete your account through the app or by following the instructions on our Delete Account page.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to VikingPal if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created security risk, misused purchases or ads, infringed rights, created legal exposure, attempted fraud, or used the Service in a harmful way. Where practical and lawful, we will give notice or an opportunity to appeal.

Termination ends your license to use VikingPal. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, purchase records, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and payment obligations.

Apple App Store

If you download VikingPal from the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and OakDev & AI AB, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for VikingPal, maintenance, support, warranties, claims, product liability, intellectual property claims, or legal compliance, except where Apple platform rules or mandatory law say otherwise.

You may use VikingPal only on Apple-branded products that you own or control and as permitted by Apple's usage rules. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce these Terms against you as they relate to your iOS use of VikingPal.

You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated by the U.S. government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. government prohibited or restricted party list, to the extent this representation is required by Apple rules.

Google Play

If you download VikingPal from Google Play, your use is also subject to Google Play's applicable terms, policies, payment rules, refund rules, and family/payment settings.

These Terms are governed by Swedish law, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

If you are a consumer, you may bring claims in the courts available under mandatory consumer law. Otherwise, disputes will be handled by the competent Swedish courts.

Before filing a claim, please contact us at hello@oakdev.app so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Swedish consumers may also contact the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) at arn.se, where eligible consumer disputes can be reviewed.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at vikingpal.oakdev.app/terms. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the app, website, email, or another appropriate method.

Your continued use of VikingPal after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using VikingPal.
